Ananda Bliss Yoga

A dharma talk is a spiritual teaching or reflection about a universal truth. Commonly associated with Buddhist traditions, today, dharma talks can enrich any inter spiritual and contemplative space. In Sanskrit, its root is “dhr,” which means “to uphold,” or “to support.”

Often yoga enthusiasts fall in love with the asanas, the poses, because they strengthen and heal our bodies, calming our nervous systems and quieting our minds. But at its core, yoga is an ancient spiritual technology, a mystical methodology. It aligns with modern discoveries in neuroscience, psychology, quantum physics, and somatic therapy, and regardless of your faith-tradition, yoga is a universal embodied cosmology that utilizes breath, stillness, and movement to transform lives.

Understanding the nature of reality is my personal obsession. Drawing from a wide range of spiritual traditions, I created Ananda Bliss Yoga to support your yoga practice, on and off the mat. Here, I share what I believe to be foundational truths that hold the universe together. If you resonate with my work, I hope it provides insight into how we might live in harmony with one another, aligned in love and grounded in peace.

OnDeafness

On Deafness is a resource for families with children who have hearing differences. I have a hard-of-hearing daughter and a profoundly deaf son. Navigating the deaf world has been my life for the last twenty-two years. According to research conducted at the University of Glasgow, “parents with children with special needs are uniquely qualified to help one another cope with feelings of isolation, despair, and anxiety. These parents act as buffers and they provide much needed emotional, social, and practical support.”

Here, I share the lessons I’ve learned along the way. From mainstream schools to deaf residential schools, to post-high school transitioning into young-adult life, On Deafness is my attempt to provide the resources I desperately needed. My desire is to encourage and support parents, and to provide a safe forum where we can share our stories and experiences. I believe we can foster a joyful, healthy community for our kids by joining our voices and sharing our lived experiences.
